These Are The 2015 Marketing Tools That Help Us Crush It Online

These are the exact tools (free and paid) that I’m using this year to help me research the market, spy on my competitors, build my sales funnels, generate leads, follow up with my leads, and basically just run my business.

If you want to crush it in your business, take a look through these tools. You’ll find at least one that you haven’t tried before that might be a game changer for you.

Competitive Research

I honestly don’t know how people buy ads online or build ad campaigns without spy tools like AdBeat. You’re playing a guessing game without it. Why put your money at risk?

When you’re in business, you’re going to need to know what your competition is up to. Adbeat allows you to locate and assess your competitions ads and copy, so that you won’t miss a beat. Obviously, I don’t recommend copying anyone, that’s illegal and unethical. However, you will gain great insight into which direction to go for your own copy and ad design.

SEMRush We use this tool for researching (aka spying) on Adwords campaigns. With SEMRush we can research what keywords a competitor is bidding on, the copy their using in their campaigns, and even click through to see the landing page they are sending too. Super valuable whether it’s for our internal campaigns or for a client that wants us to manage their ads for them.

activecampaign-imsActiveCampaign has all the standard email marketing features like opt-in forms, autoresponder, broadcasts, segments, etc. But if you’re only using them for that you’re missing out… We use active campaign for lead scoring, trigger automated sequences based on activity the subscriber does on our website, as well as dynamically change the content in an email based on the data you have for the subscriber.

Plus, as an agency, we’re able to create a profile of each contact that stores their activity. With those profiles we can drag and drop subscribers into deals within our sales pipeline and then assign those deals to team members.

More importantly, Gumroad has a friendly mobile optimized user interface that makes mobile purchases a breeze!

There are LOTS of project management software out there. We’ve used all of the popular options and I find Trello to be the best. It’s lightweight, simple, has a great mobile app, and keeps everything organized. It also won’t overwhelm you with a mountain of information every time you login. You see only what you need to see at the time you need to see it.

By far the smallest change we made in our content marketing and social sharing that has increased conversions and paid for itself twice the first time we used it.

Last year we started using Sniply every time we shared a good article we either wrote ourselves or read around the web. Even if the person was reading other peoples content on the web a link to our content or offer was visible to the reader which resulted in more clicks to our content and offer. We like simple and effective tools – this one gets a two thumbs up.

glinks-imsGlinks is a tool we built to add UTM codes to our web URL’s. A UTM code is simple code that is added to the end of a URL. It will send the data to your tracking software (like Google Analytics) so that you can see how well a campaign is doing. Adding UTM parameters to the end of our tracking links has become a pretty common activity around here.. this tool ensure we’re adding the correct details to our tracking links. Our entire team keeps this tool bookmarked 🙂
